„ConTempo“ šiemet kvies pasaulio sceną patirti ir už Kauno ribų – vienas festivalio pasirodymų persikels į Užutrakio dvaro sodybos rūmus Trakuose. Istoriniame pastate, apsuptame gamtos ir ežero peizažų, belgų trupė „Cie des Chaussons Rouges“ pristatys jautrų ir vizualų šiuolaikinio cirko pasirodymą „Epiphytes“, kviečiantį sulėtėti ir įsižiūrėti į trapų ryšį tarp kūnų, judesio ir aplinkos.

per metų laikus,
tarp žemės ir dangaus,
šešėlyje ir šviesoje
miškai kvėpuoja,
įšaknija mus gyvybėje,
pakylėja mūsų vaizduotę,
atskleidžia kitą būdą mąstyti apie pasaulį.
Jie slenka medžio kamienu aukštyn, ieškodami šviesos.
Besinaudojantys kitu tik kaip atrama ir neeikvojantys jo resursų. Tokie yra epifitai – augalai, davę impulsą (ir pavadinimą) šiam stebinančiam pasirodymui, kuris vyksta penkių metrų aukštyje,ant metalinės konstrukcijos. Keturios akrobatės ryžtasi iššūkiui: per judesį šiai statiškai struktūrai įpūsti gyvybės.
Prieš žiūrovų akis išsiskleidžia grakštus šokis su objektais – pusiausvyros aktas, reikalaujantis jėgos ir koordinuoto judesio. „Épiphytes“ pasirodyme vaizduojamas miškas, sykiu ir tikras, ir išgalvotas; nepavaldus laikui, paslaptingas ir turintis tūkstantį veidų. Tai – susidūrimų ir juslinio patyrimo vieta; klaidi, baimę kurstanti plotmė; žaismo ir laisvės erdvė.

Festivalį finansuoja Lietuvos kultūros taryba ir Kauno miesto savivaldybė. Spektaklio pristatymą Užutrakio dvaro sodyboje organizuoja ir finansuoja Trakų istorinio nacionalinio parko direkcija, remia Wallonie-Bruxelles International organizacija.

This year, ConTempo will invite audiences to experience the world stage beyond the borders of Kaunas - one of the festival’s performances will take place at the manor house of the Užutrakis estate in Trakai. In this historic building, surrounded by nature and lake views, the Belgian troupe “Cie des Chaussons Rouges” will present “Epiphytes,” a sensitive and visually striking contemporary circus performance that invites you to slow down and observe the delicate connection between bodies, movement, and the environment.

over the seasons,
between land and sky,
in shadow and light
the forests breathe,
ground us in the living,
lift up our imagination,
reveal another way of thinking about the world.
Aerial plants that climb on their host without exhausting their resources. Looking vertically for the light, in the middle of the mist perched between woods and interior forest.
Epiphytes, plants that grow on trees without being parasites, provided the name and inspiration for this unusual play, which takes place on a 5-metre-high metal structure.
The plants do not touch the ground but grow on other plants or on support structures, without tapping into their hosts' nutrient sources. The four acrobats holding long metal poles are faced with the challenge to settle and animate the structure through movement.
An aesthetic dance with objects unfolds, a tightrope act of strength, dynamism and energy. Épiphytes presents a forest that is both real and a fantasy, timeless, mysterious and with a thousand facets: a place of encounters and multi-sensory communication, a space of distraction and fear, a place to play and an expression of freedom.

The festival is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Kaunas City Municipality. The presentation of the performance at the Užutrakis Manor Homestead is organized and funded by the Trakai Historical National Park Directorate, with support from the Wallonie-Bruxelles International.
