Nacionaliniame Kauno dramos teatre – XX a. paskutiniojo dešimtmečio namų vaizdo įrašai virs muzikiniu koliažu apie valstybės, visuomenės ir mūsų pačių pradžią. Pirmųjų asmeninių kamerų užfiksuotuose kadruose skambės dainos, muzika ir kasdienybė, tampanti gyvu Nepriklausomybės pradžios portretu.

Muzikinio koliažo „Dainų šventė“ pagrindu tapo XX a. paskutiniojo dešimtmečio home videos, kuriuose užfiksuoti gyvenimiški epizodai – juose grojama įvairiais muzikiniais instrumentais ir dainuojama. Tai laikas, kuriame Lietuvos Nepriklausomybės pradžia sutapo su pirmųjų plačiau prieinamų asmeninių vaizdo kamerų paplitimu. Jų savininkai dažniausiai filmavo savo artimiausią gyvenamąją aplinką, šeimą. Šiandien šie buitiniai įrašai tampa proga pažvelgti į dabartinės nepriklausomos visuomenės pradžią, suprasti, kas liko, o kas išnyko, kas tapo ilgalaikiu sociumo bruožu, o kas – tik to laiko ženklu. Nostalgijos, ironijos ir šilumos kupinas darbas – tai odė praeinančio laiko neišvengiamybei.

At the Kaunas National Drama Theater, home videos from the last decade of the 20th century will be transformed into a musical collage about the beginnings of the state, society, and ourselves. The footage captured by the first personal cameras will feature songs, music, and everyday life, coming together to form a vivid portrait of the dawn of independence.

The musical collage The Festival of Songs is based on home videos from the last decade of the 20th century, which capture everyday moments, namely – people playing various musical instruments and singing. This was a time when the beginning of Lithuanian independence coincided with the spread of the first widely available personal video cameras. Their owners mostly filmed their immediate living surroundings and family members. Today, these home videos provide an opportunity to look back at the beginnings of our current independent society, to understand what has remained and what has disappeared, what has become a lasting characteristic of society and what is merely a sign of the times. This work, full of nostalgia, irony, and warmth, is an ode to the inevitability of passing time.
